Born and raised in Festus, Missouri, Andrew J. Bauman graduated from St. Pius X High School in 2011. Andrew completed his undergraduate studies at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, graduating summa cum laude in 2015 with a B.A. in History and minors in Political Science and Historic Preservation. Andrew earned his law degree at the Saint Louis University School of Law, graduating in 2018 with a Concentration in Urban Development, Land Use, and Environmental Law.
For the first three years of his legal career, Andrew served clients at a general practice firm based in Jefferson and Ste. Genevieve Counties. In 2021, Andrew moved to Perryville, Missouri and joined a well-respected Southeast Missouri law firm, serving clients throughout the region out of the firm's Perryville Office. Since moving to Perryville, Andrew has honed a robust transactional practice representing many clients throughout Southeast Missouri on matters involving real property law, estate planning, and corporate law.
Andrew's legal research paper entitled “Legally Enabling a Modern-Day Mayberry: A Legal Analysis of Form-Based Zoning Codes” (50 URB. LAW. 41 (2019)) was published in the Spring 2019 issue (Volume 50, Number 1) of The Urban Lawyer, the national law journal of the American Bar Association's Section of State and Local Government Law. Andrew's paper analyzed the legal issues associated with “form-based zoning,” a neotraditional approach to comprehensive land use regulation transforming the sense of place and functionality within communities by focusing on design and form rather than separation of land uses.
Notable cases on which Andrew has served as co-counsel include the Missouri constitutional law case entitled City of De Soto, et al. v. Michael L. Parson, et al., No. SC 98891, 2021 WL 3117987 (Mo. July 22, 2021). Andrew served as co-counsel on the case with James Kreitler on a successful appeal to the Missouri Supreme Court. Andrew is an Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America and serves on the Board of Directors for SEMO Chi Alpha Campus Ministry and as a worship drummer at Discover Life Church in Perryville.
